NUC, meaning ‘knot’ in Catalan, is a tile collection for the top-of-the-range décor brand Harmony Inspire by Peronda. NUC features mesh-mounted mosaics formed by simple 4.5 cm glass tesserae. This time we took inspiration from the Gestalt principles. According to these, the mind has an innate disposition to perceive patterns in the stimulus based on certain rules. This signature wall tile is therefore conceived as a product that confers equal importance to all its elements. Even the joints, usually an insignificant detail,
become relevant to the final effect. The arrangement of the square tiles, intentionally shifted, causes the optical illusion of constant movement and evokes the patterns of fishing nets and mesh fabrics.
